MIT BUILD-TO-SUIT SOLUTIONS: EQUINIX DATA CENTRE – SG3
Mapletree Industrial Trust (MIT) has completed the construction of a new data centre building for Equinix Singapore (“Equinix”). Known as SG3, this building will be Equinix’s 3rd data centre in Singapore and also its largest in Asia-Pacific. The new data centre will allow Equinix to cater to the strong demand for premium data centre services in the region.
On 18 March 2015, Equinix celebrated the grand opening of the purpose-built data centre. The grand opening ceremony was graced by Mr Yeoh Keat Chuan, Managing Director of Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB).

The project is situated within one-north and consists of a seven-storey high specification building with a gross floor area of approximately 385,000 sq ft. It is easily accessed via major expressways such as Ayer Rajah Expressway and Pan Island Expressway, and is within close proximity to one-north and Buona Vista Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) Stations.
Many of MIT’s Build-to-Suit projects have been recognised for their environmentally-conscious designs. These include:

Tata Communications Exchange, which has been conferred the BCA Green Mark Gold Award for Buildings and the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold Award for commercial interiors in 2009;

Equinix Data Centre SG3, which has been recently conferred the Platinum Award under the Building and Construction Authority-Infocomm Development Authority ("BCA-IDA") Green Mark scheme.
SG3 aptly demonstrates MIT's development capabilities in customizing high specification industrial facilities. Such Build-to-Suit solutions allow companies to focus on their core business while MIT takes care of capital expenditure and development process.
